Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate has been distilling rum for almost three centuries in the Trelawny Parish, historically known as the grand cru of Jamaican rum. In 2009, Hampden Estate started to age its Pure Single Rums, opening a new era in the world of spirits. Produced with unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century, Hampden Estate rum has a distinct and iconic aromatic profile. This is in great part due to an extremely high level of esters achieved by a very long, complex process. The rum has been aged for 8 years in the tropical Jamaican climate, equivalent to almost 25 years of maturation in the European climate. Excellent for sipping and mixology. Taste: Persistent and pleasant notes of ginger, vanilla, dark chocolate and coffee bean, resin and praline. Lingering and enticing. Waxy notes. Appearance: Golden amber. Aroma: Voluptuous and intense. Notes of ripe banana, allspice, dried orange zest, baked apple.
