The legendary sailor Knut Hansen is the face of our gin – an honest guy, who didn’t let anything or anyone stop him on his journey, taking the freedom to head for the places he always wanted to see and having countless adventures along the way. We produce many bottles of KNUT HANSEN daily on our copper 150l distillery of the company Arnold Holstein. In an elaborate process, our gin is distilled four times in small passes at an extremely slow energy input and then bottled in the distinctive KNUT HANSEN ceramic bottles. We track exactly from which cultivation the individual ingredients in our gin production. We also attach great importance to using botanicals from our fine northern Germany. For example, the apples come from the old Land south of the Elbe, the basil and the cucumbers we may take from the family greenhouse and the rose petals come from the Baltic Sea dike. KNUT HANSEN is expanding: Earl Grey & Bergamot. This combination of floral Earl Grey tea and zesty bergamot brings a fresh breeze to the gin shelf. The tea is macerated and filtered for the distillate to achieve a balanced, delicate aroma. Handmade in small batches at our Hamburg distillery. Taste: The black tea brings a slightly bitter, earthy depth, while bergamot adds fresh, lively citrus tones. Aroma: Early Grey Tea, Bergamont, Juniper
